We believe in one God who eternally exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. God the Father is the creator and ruler of the universe. We believe that He is limitless in power, knowledge, wisdom, love, and holiness. We also believe that He has revealed Himself as the Father of all believers.

 

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is the second person of the Trinity and is co-equal with the Father. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life, and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all humanity by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven, where He sits at the right hand of the Father. He will return again to take those of us who believe to be with Him.

 

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and co-equal with the Father. The Holy Spirit acts to convict the world of sin and unrighteousness, works in the life of each believer to produce Godly character traits, and demonstrates Himself, in the life of the church, through spiritual gifts given to each believer to carry out the work of the church. He is comforter, teacher, wisdom, and counselor.

 

The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.

 

Mankind was created by a special work of God, in His image, and is the crowning achievement of His creation-God said, “It is very good.” Man was created innocent, but with a free choice, he sinned against God and fell from his original state. Because Christ died for all, every person is worthy of respect and Christian love.

 

We believe that salvation is a gift of God to humanity. We can never make up for sin by self-improvement or good works. Only trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. It is by asking Christ to be our forgiver and leader and committing our lives to Him, that we gain eternal life. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our lives.

 

We believe that people were created to live forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is to live in Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

 

We believe that God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ; therefore, we are secure in that salvation for eternity. If we have been genuinely saved, we can’t “lose” it. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security.

 

We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and making Him known to a disconnected world.

 

We believe none of these acts makes us Christians. We practice them as an act of worship, reverence, and celebration of what Christ has already done for us and our willingness to allow Him to lead our lives, families, and church.

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change that has occurred in the life of the believer. It is an identification with Christ by picturing his death, burial, and resurrection. It is the first commandment a new Christian is given for the Lord Jesus. (Matthew 28:19; Rom 6:4)

 

is an opportunity for parents to commit themselves to raise their child in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord.” While this does not transfer salvation onto a child, the significance rests in the parents committing to order their priorities so that their children grow up to know, trust and follow the Lord.
